My husband and I relocated from the Seattle area 5 years ago because we wanted to experience a "real summer". The year we moved, Seattle had a mean summer temperature of 69 degrees and we decided that was definitely too cold! We have loved being in such a beautiful area since our move! While I am working, my husband, Gene, stays busy in his own business as an engineer; he has invented high pressure water-jet technology for cleaning and cutting applications.
Since living in Grants Pass, I have worked as a Home Health nurse, per diem Intensive Care nurse, and continue to teach basic nursing students at OHSU housed at SOU. Before coming here, I taught nursing at Pacific Lutheran University, worked as an Emergency Room supervisor, Clinic manager, and clinical specialist in the ICU. One of my most poignant experiences was that of being in the Peace Corps in Tanzania, East Africa. Experiencing life and health care in an underdeveloped country was very challenging but extremely rewarding!        .
After teaching, I decided that I wanted another challenge and decided to start the FNP program at OHSU. I just can't seem to stop going to school! I am very excited at being a part of this wonderful practice! I believe that health care is a right for all people, and that as partners, we can work together to maximize your health.
When I am not teaching or not at the clinic, I enjoy hiking, camping, attending concerts and especially competitive ballroom dancing.
